Reno's are done!!!

After 3 months of mess and inconvenience, our reno's are finally done!!! What a relief that is! Here are some before and after pics of the kitchen.

I love my new pantry. We converted a closet into a pantry. The door you see above is the pantry door and the opening used to be around the corner where the light fixture is, facing into the living room. The closet got used for everything from coats to junk. And it never had a door, so it always looked messy. And the fact that it faced into the living room, made the living room space so much smaller, since we couldn't put any furniture there. So, this makes way more sense and the space is much more useable, plus it makes our living room feel bigger. I think this pantry actually used to be an entrance originally. It had a window in it on the back wall when we moved here, which we closed up years ago. And when we tore out the drywall during this reno, it looked like that space used to be a door.

My new sink is granite and my faucet is oil rubbed bronze, which matches all the other new metal in our house. All the cabinet pulls and all the light fixtures are oil rubbed bronze.

So, what we did was tore out 3 walls and 2 doorways, and put in 2 support beams and a post to support the beams. Two of the walls were supporting walls. Our space feels huge now compared to before. The kitchen, dining room, living room and hallway were all separate rooms before and now it's one big open space. It feels strange, but I'm sure it won't take long to get used to it.

We don't have our new living room furniture yet, so our living room is still in disarray. I'll post pictures of that once the new furniture is in.
